I have battled prostate cancer since 2010. This is probably the hardest thing that has ever happened to me and my family. If its a proceedure related to prostate cancer, I probably had it. Surgery, radiation, hormones, cathaters, second surgeries, annd other very uncomfortable proceedures.The trama of first being ld I had an aggressive type of cancer, wondering how long I had, what was going to happen to my wife and family. Later being told it had metastisized to my bones. I am more fortunate than many in having a wonderful wife who has given up so much so often to be a caregiver to me. I am fortunate because the proceedures I have had have allowed me to live a wonderful healthy life. It's always there though, in the back of your mind. You are never cured of cancer, any cancer. They can prove it's there, but they can't prove it's not.

I have been given an opportunity to do something for others for a change, and I don't want to miss it. I want others to have it easier. I want others to have the resources, support, education, and access to medical care to help them fight this. I also want to see a GENERATION ZERO, a generation free of prostate cancer. I have organized Run For A Life, a 4.2 mile and 1 mile run/walk, to take place at Greenfield Lake in Wilmington NC on September 12, 2019. 100% of money raised goes to benefit ZERO - The End Of Prostate Cancer.
